Does anyone know who Mohamed Abdi Makaahiil is? He was from Somaliland during the times of the protectorate, I'm guessing Makaahiil is sacad muse? @waraabe do you know?

And is it possible to find his book called The Institution of Modern Correspondence in the Somali language?

Never heard of him, but FYI there are 3 clans named Makaahiil in Somali culture. One is a HA subclan, another is an Ogaadeen subclan and the third is a Gadabiirsi subclan. Yep it's confusing.

Only information I got about him is from wiki "Mahammad 'Abdi Makaahiil attempted to standardize the orthography in his book The Institution of Modern Correspondence in the Somali language. Following in the footsteps of Sh. Ibraahim 'Abdallah Mayal, Makaahiil therein championed the use of the Arabic script for writing Somali, showing examples of this usage through proverbs, letters and sentences."
