Ibrahim ibn Abdullah ibn Muhammad Al Zayla’i Al Askari. Since his Sheikh died in 856 A.D. (245 A.H.) I’m Assuming he would have to have been born by 830. He, Al Daraqutni, and Al Tabari (RA) studied under the same Sheikh.

There were famous scientists in Egypt, such as Abd al-Rahman al-Jabarti, and his father was also a mathematician.

What a great discovery, this is what we've been looking for. Now that we know about the existence of a zayla'i sheikh in the 9th century we can expect to find more. It's yet another evidence further proving the early adoption of islam in the somali peninsula. I suspect we might find even older reference of zayla'i scholars if we keep looking.

I've checked other books and he is given the nisbah Al Absi not Zayla'i, so hes arab and this book made a typo
