There both running away. Only in the Somali case, it’s not really a surprise since it happens fairly regularly.

The only reason I can think of for him to undergo a completely different identity is to get out of paying child support (even though he could’ve afforded it, and decidedly severed relations with his boys in the process), and Somali guys don’t often pay child support. Half the time the family he left is on govt assistance anyway.
