Somali birth rate in 2024 in Finland is 2.18 basically at replacement level in 2023 it was 2.36 meaning it’s dropping at a rate of almost 0.2 per year


Long term trends seem that Somali fertility declined drastically in the last ten years since 2015/2016 from hovering around 4 to now 2.18 in 2024 I believe this mainly has to do with the emergence of the second generation coming of age

Lots of different factors tbh they are trying now to increase their birth rate through government incentives but I believe it’s too late healthy sustainable birth rate in the west should be 2.5-3 kids to keep civilization going

It’s not as bad as South Korea or Japan but Western Europe economy is pretty much cooked without immigrant labour in the long term

In Canada, you will see many 30-39 single Somalis living at their birth family home without any kids. Or some with roommates or living alone but still without any kids.

It’s for all Somali language speakers both first and second gen I guarantee you second gen are well below 2 while fobs are probably closer to 3

Thousands of us got to experience what life was like growing up as a poor kid in the west. Most of us know how bad life could be here.

Most Gen Z and millennial diasporan Somali men have no interest in having kids until they know they can provide them a nice middle class life style.

In the past 10 years I can only think of 2 Farahs that had a kid before the age of 22. One of them had an out of wedlock baby with his girlfriend and ended up marrying her. The other had parents who hooked him up with a chick after he graduated high school.besides these two most of my friends with kids only started having them within the past 3 years. These men have finished college and have good careers.
