"There is no such thing as unconditional love in Islam. Your family is your family and they love and care about you, but its all based on your adherance to Islam. The second you deviate from the religion, that love -- is gone"

This is a powerful quote. We may not all agree with it in totality but I think we all know there's a strong dose of truth to it.

Is this a good thing or bad thing for the Somali community. Should we excommunicate members of our community and our own kin because they choose to live different or adhere to other belief shstems?

Discuss.

My bad guys. But video aside, can we at least leave it here for the question posed in OP or sbod I move there?

Edit: I think we should leave this thread. I skimmed the other one and it was mostly garbage and flamewars. This thread shouldn't be religious in nature.

Your children are your family as long as they are muslim. When they stop being muslim, they are no longer your family. Remeber the conversation between Allah and nabi Nuh when his son was drawning
