Somali Elections 2021

The first president to set up proper sewage system in the capital should have a statue and city named after him. Or get 75% of the population literate with proper I.D’s.

You can’t have supremacy and a functioning nation-state. One has got to give.

The establishment or re-establishment of a nation-state requires sacrifices from its stakeholders. 4.5 and Somali federalism is a system that keeps the biggest clans happy but the only sacrifice is made by smaller clans.

Qabiil is nothing at the end of the day. It is not religion or ethnicity but rather weak or dubious familial links. Someone in Bosasso or Garowe is my 200th cousin at best.

What you need to consider is whether your 200th cousin is actually family or just another Somali.

Will you invite them to your birthday party?

If the answer is no, then the concept of clan becomes irrelevant.

Realistically, Somalia should be the most harmonious or equitable society in Africa yet it’s the most divided.

When you ponder on that and the reasons for it, everything becomes clearer.
Guys really trying to convince me qabiils not important because nobody wished him happy birthday, forget I even responded to this one :nvjpqts:
ninyo what is he trying to say
pls elaborate for us novice to politics
2 main options if everyone stays;
  • 6-9 states ruled by each medium to large clan of each region work together to make up a federal government using “Freedom” as a premise. Less efficient and more gridlock but less abuse of powers.
  • 1 clan and their cronies try to rule every clan and use a mask of nationalism. More efficient but prone to use for qabiil reasons like Farmajo and Siad.
I support the first but if there is still too much issues for smaller clans I could support greater power to the districts.

Okay, I explained on another thread but I'll reattach walaal.

This is how I reached my conclusion.

You have realised qabyalaad is bad and we should keep it away from politics.

However, when you look at the state Somalia is in at the moment as well as the prominence of qabiil in every level of Somalia’s political system (state/federal). You realise that we have to use qabiil to counter qabyalaad in politics.

All of your ideas are well and good but cannot be implemented by a government that cannot afford the time to do such a necessary overhaul. This is something for a stabilised Somalia.

A very depressing realisation, right?

A very quick and easy solution for the current times is to decree that a tribe that is dominant at the state level cannot hold the Pres/PM positions. This will abate bias and bickering until Somalia stabilises.

You deliberately misunderstood the point, which proves that I am ultimately correct.

However, in case you were genuinely confused, I'll explain.

The reason Somalis put someone from the same qabiil over another Somali, is because they are the same qabiil or family. But are they really family?

If you found a random person from the same qabiil as you on the street, will you really treat him differently or expect him to treat you differently than another Somali because you're the same qabiil.

No, because at the end of the day, they are random people.

I am killed by clan, I am jailed by clan, I am hired by clan, I am deported by clan, I am enrolled by clan, I am married by clan, and I am elected by clan. You talking about them being a 200th relative or not having them at your birthday is what I was and still am laughing at.

“Would you expect them to treat you differently”. This is so good I have to give it a love rating.

At the end of the day, I attempt to be your glasses, a type of visual aid for a complex issue regarding governance.

However, if you choose not to see then whatever I say is useless walaal as you remain a blind man with or without glasses.

Inshallah that changes.

As for obsession with power @Removed

I’m MJ, so I stand to lose from my own proposal.

But I am happy with that because it provides Somalia with needed progress, not developmentally but socially.
I respect you, we need a strong FGS more than ever the shacab has suffered for too long. :yousmart:

I will give my non-biased opinion,

Right now Somalia's election is based on who has Federal State, because having a Federal state garantuees candidates of the same Qabiil state to garner support from it, so far qabiils with Federal State are below in the map;

And the Candidates for Somalia Presidential elections are:

Abdinuur Xawaadle- Hirshabelle
Deni MJ- Puntland
Farmaajo the incumbent President with no Clan-State of its own, he purely sits on Somalia's Presidency by chance.
Guuleed and AAW both are HGs - Galmudug
Shariif, HSM and Dahir Geele all Abgaal - Hirshabelle
Shariif sakiin an D&M- Koonfur Galbeed

So far the election votes is heading this way, every clan states are supporting their clansmen.

CandidatesSenators
Deni14 (11PL) (3JL)
Rooble11 SL
Farmaajo8 KG+ 1 GM
Abdikarim Gulled7 GM
Ahmed madobe5 JL
Hassan Sh Mahmoud1 JL
Total seats44/54 ,
Somaliland is left over but since last Saturday election Rooble took over Somaliland Committee expelling both Mahdi guuleed and Abdi Hashi

The last 3 candidates will be Guuled, Farmaajo and Deni, and since Somalia is based on Hawiye & Darood powersharing the 2 Darood candidates Deni and Farmaajo need to do dealing with Guuled for either PM or President powersharing.

Simply Any other candidates without a clan state is automatically disqualified./
I didn't get how rooble is out if he took over SLcommittee, and how he took over the committee and why there is no candidate from SL ?
