I plan on marrying a Somali or ethiopian. If I can't find a gaal xalimo than I'll just stick with Ethiopians.

Agreed, theres many families where older siblings may be able to speak somali but the youngers cant. Somali diaspora losing the language is a problem, one that id say we struggle with more than other communities.

The buy in of somalinimo from my pov is 1 faith, 1 language, 1 people. All 3 aspects are being corroded in the diaspora.

It fully depends on how the situation in somalia will play in the next 10, 20 30 years... I remember going to elementary school for a event and this little somali kid didnt know a lick of somali Thats when I realized how bad things were... However other then our language, I think our culture will still stick around. If you are somali in a black friend group you are treated as a low caste and its sad to see them I see those bums a lot Man I remember this Nigga went into the girl section of prayer area oh hell nah what is a dread head doing there but anyways. I think the culture will stick around for a long time we stick together but other customs like language is gonna be on the down. However is somalia can fix its self up with another government and the qabilist warriors start dying off. Things will start looking good for us.

Turks are pretty racist to somalis, especially the women. And i mean somali people specifically, they have a distinct identity in turkey as visa overstayers.

I wish you best of luck, and im sure there's one for you, but id imagine itd be similar to the whites that would get with blacks in the us.

If you want to know the fate of Somalis in the next generations, just look at the immigrant communities that came before us.

It’s not looking good. The majority of 2nd/3rd gen immigrants are fully westernized and didn’t retain much of their culture except for maybe cuisine. The exceptions are the Chinese and Italians that live in enclaves but Somalis are scattering more and more to the suburbs so we won’t have those cultural hubs

There has been a significant increase in Chinese immigration, including reports of individuals crossing the border.

They will always have new, fresh blood coming in, which will keep the culture alive.

Only irreligious. I don't like hanging with annoying atheists. I'd rather marry an Ethiopian if my only Somali options were ayaan hirsi variants.

I'm not really loud about my beliefs irl. Plus I only hang out with cultural somalis that barely even talk about Islam.

Attempting to make predictions is equivalent to reading tea leaves, but if you want us to play Nostradamus then here:

1. Religion won't be eliminated. There will be a sizeable segment of those who believe in Islam and look to their faith for guidance, structure, and discipline, which is generally lacking among secular people who become prone to vice (substance abuse, premarital sex and greater mental health concerns from fewer adaptive coping mechanisms).
   • If you believe in nothing, something will fill the void. Maybe your ilk will worship at the altar of scientism or an A.I. deity. Seems like something @Yami would be into.
2. You will see various ideological camps emerging, including those interested in forming a middle class that subscribes to faith, family, and upward mobility and perhaps those interested in creating intergenerational wealth.
3. There may be a demand for cultural schools intended to teach the Somali language. Some of us have learned about the issues related to assimilation among previous groups and how this results to some degree in being absorbed into a majority population, but it only works for some. They have minds of their own and don't simply follow mass formation.
4. Somalis who marry out largely do so organically; even with an uptick, no one will care as the majority will want some sense of familiarity, be it ethnic, cultural, religious or even aesthetic.
5. There will also be more individuals who marry later or choose to be single and not marry, as that is a current trend in the West.
