I've done my hair like that recently for eid, small braids are a common Somali hairstyle, especially with open ends. It looks different depending on your hair texture and the woman in that image has softer hair

Yeah I see those type of braids a lot in older pics or sometimes just an afro it's really cute might have to try it out

My mum did it for me! I have a weak scalp so she just braided it gently and the bottom opened naturally and became cute little curls. Historically the braids were also attached to the scalp and the bottom half was left open (more common with shorter hair/tighter curls) but either way it looks slay

I have tighter curls so I'll def be trying this out thanks so much I also have a weak scalp lol so these might be better

I'm hoping she does lol she was raised in the West so if she doesn't I'll ask my gran
