The feeling is mutual and I think the reason that Iman has several dogs at her mansion is to deter unwanted Somalis coming to her place for charity. Will you visit her regardless of the dogs?
Dogs are fine but is Ayan hersi or any other Somali apostate going to be there? That will deter me from attending for sure.

Nijaas according to your islamic texts is only when the dog is wet, why not dry them and have a shower? The reason is economics.
If thats the case then can you explain to us why Somalis don't own a dog in the west mr islamophobe, let me guess cause they're to poor to feed themselves nevermind feeding a dog right?:susp:

Nothing in particular, it was just annoying. It had an 'outdoor' personality, it would not leave you alone until you let it out, then it would stay out all day and come back just to eat and sleep. And not just anywhere, out of all the places it could've slept it always went straight for the centre of my bed. Can you imagine waking up in the middle of the night because you can feel something walking over your legs? Get up, to look down and find a pitch black cat staring at you... :ohlord: I even rubbed lemon all over my door in hopes it would leave me be, but it never worked

:dead::dead:

Wallahi that's scary...

Don't you close your room door though? How did it get in :kanyehmm: does it still do that?

Miskiin wallahi... maybe it was in love with you, aren't black cats supposed to be jinns ?

Even if he were to clean it with the water of all the seas in the world and all the soap in the world, it would never become pure! Because its impurity is inherent, and inherent impurity cannot be cleansed except by destroying it and erasing it altogether.

In the gulf states and Sham countries, it is common for higher middle classes to own dogs, but like Somalis, the poorer Muslims can't feed themselves let alone dogs. It became part of our culture not to own any types of pets. You don't spend $$$ on a pet that requires food, registration, desexing and treatments costs at the vetinary, that is why we developed dog-phoebia attitudes. Unwanted Somal guests always hesitate to come to my place because they are too scared to be met by Amur, my Labrador Retriever.
Yea, that sounds like a more practical explanation; the culture/religion interplay could be where the rules originated from. I remember my parents surprised to see how Westerners treat their dogs because most pets were strays and would only get left over scraps when they were growing up. And Labrador Retrievers seem awesome!, they're in my top 4 list of fav dogs...if I ever end up getting any. Did you have any experience dealing with/taking care of dogs before you got Amur?

I told you I have listened to fatwas and you post islamqa link which anybody could write it off :comeon:
Islamqa isnt written by anyone bro. Its written by the biggest scholars.

You can't keep a dog in your house.

:what:

Says who? We had a dog back home and I'm planning to get one soon. Dogs aren't Haram, their saliva is dirty (Nijaas). Other than they're just like other pets, you can touch them and your wudhu will be valid. In fact, you can keep them for protection according to Islam.
Najas aside were not allowed to own them except for farming and other services like seeing eye dogs

I had a big room and my bed faced away from the door in the corner. If the hall lights were switched off, I'd sometimes forget to close it because was less obvious the door wasn't fully shut. I eventually learned the hard way to check every night before falling asleep watching TV or whatever. Didn't stop it from scratching my door though. :bell:
