somalis told me turks have a built country but have alot of reer baadiyo attitudes. anyway and now turkish economy has declined and when that happens foreigners are one of the 1st groups to bite the bullet. multiply that by hypernationalism+anti arabism+refugees. it can turn pear shaped for syrians afghans somalis very quickly.

Turks have turned on Muslim refugees/immigrants and blame them for everything wrong in that miserable country. They don't care whether you're legal or not.
The online vitriol against Syrians, Afghans and even Pakistanis makes this incident at the restaurant look very tame.
Authorities pick on Somali businesses whenever there is a wave of anti immigrant sentiments as they see it as an easy target with our government being weak.
Somalis are well behaved and keep to themselves compared to other immigrant groups which is acknowledged by some of the comments.
Still...Somalis need to leave Turkey as with the way things are going and with the upcoming elections & incendiary rhetoric by opposition politicians, things will probably get violent.

Incidents like this are actually needed to wake our people up from their embarrassing Turkey worship.

Why are Somalis in places like turkey Middle East Africa doing so much better than in the west?

I feel like it’s more than that. Culturally the western somalis tend to imitate criminal groups and follow their culture whereas outside of the west, those people are looked down upon and seen as bakhti.

I am not racist, but I believe it is because they adopt black culture in the west, which has a history of glorifying crime.

Imitating and taking on criminal and gang culture is also linked to the areas Somalis settle in the west which for the most part is in poorer neighborhoods where people are less educated and on welfare.. But in Africa and in the middle eastern countries such areas are no go zones and very dangerous to settle in and also the government won't help you with a welfare check, you see the difference?
If there was no such thing as black culture, or if it was not that popular, I think we would be much better off.
Main factor is the lack of a safety net so Somalis who are naturally entrepreneurial thrive in Africa and the Middle East. Often times working together.
It is also cultural.
Too many Somalis in the West were settled in urban and low income areas and children growing up in a crime infested environment are susceptible to adopting the culture.
That's why when you travel to the Middle East and Africa, Somalis have a reputation of being pious, hard working, honest and upright citizens.
