Somali BLM girl in my college class

It is Cushitic guilt. She knows who she is and what her people were involved in. Having no history of slavery and possibly having ancestors that might have benefited from enslaving non-Somalis, she feels a pronounced sense of guilt and internalized hate. Unlike the SJW cadaan girl whose pigment prevents her from being a POC, the Somali girl can use the Black card. In turn, becoming a culture vulture of transatlantic madow people, adopting their historical legacy, and using them to bolster her low self-esteem as she lacks cultural pride. She cannot accept her nomadic roots and what she sees in the mirror: a small-nosed girl with a round forehead and skinny forearms incapable of being xoog weyne no matter how much she lifts.

The queen of classy drags.

It really gets to me when some Somalis do this. We have seriously no business adopting the victim role in regards to slavery. There was no established, noticeable slave trade involving Somalis as cargo. None. Now, could the rare saxiib or saxiibti have been kidnapped or something? Sure. But there was no established trade and Arab sources even as early as around the 12th century make a point of saying the people of "Bilad al-Barbar" (Somali coast) are not traded since they are Muslims.

Not to mention that Somalis were literally avid slave traders both in the north and the south:

To this day we have an ethnic minority in our country that the more racist among us refer to wirh the word "Adoon" (slave) like calling someone n*gger in America. We have no business coopting New World Black and Madow struggles. These types of girls have identity crisis issues.
My mom told me that some of the minor tribe people and Somali Bantu’s were enslaved at that time, but it had mainly to do with the fact that they didn’t had protection while other Somalis did
