I swear these people are annoying the biggest Somali diaspora is in the Arab world, first world Somalis are moving to gulf countries trust me they are claiming to be Arabs over there. Somalis in Saudi, who hold a passport, are a very small group of people. The rest are iqama holders or illegals at risk of deportation.

In order to disown it, we have to be IT first. We are Somali, never been Arab, we're older than these people.

I have realised the Somalis from the khaleej, although there is a big population there, they are not as unapologetically Somali compare to other diaspora populations they lowkey about their somalinimo or would rather identify with the Arab culture in the country they are in. I don’t understand this, they have been there for years more than there been any other Somali population in the west, Omani Somalis still have links to their harti cousins even host their suldaans and do fundraise likewise with other Somali Arab population it’s just they are not ghetto and have the Arab daqaan of being modest cause you don’t hear enough them it’s cause they are law abiding people compared to the Ethiopians in Arab countries who have a more infamous reputation, lol Ethiopians can’t even cosplay as Somalis that’s how serious Arab countries and Arab Somalis won’t let them

Somalis in Saudi, who hold a passport, are a very small group of people. The rest are iqama holders or illegals at risk of deportation.

They’re the ones that went to the Khaleej pre-1970s and were smart enough to take the passport when it was offered to them. I’ve come across a few Somali families whose dads/grandfathers refused the passports during the mid-60s because we had a functioning government that was on par with the khaleej. Their kids are suffering now because of that decision.
