So if both ancient eygptian and semetic speakers descended from proto somali pastoralists like my theory suggesg that would obviously change how the afroasiatic languges family looks like. Proto semetic and Proto anicent eygptian would just be somali in reality.
So I decided to test this out for fun . The first word that occurred to me was the first verse the prophet received iqra(read/recite) in the name of your lord . So if you look up the protosemetic word for read/recite all they have is the kr sound which if you add two vowels to the front and a constant in thr middle. You get akhri. And i can totally see the akh sound pronounced really quickly evolving into the semetic q.
Theres also another intresting one which is the word for a cow in aramaic being tawrta which if you take out the t in the front becomes awrta which is the somali word for a male camel.
But probably the example i found most interesting is the word wahid which is 1 in arabic and Hebrew but is apparently in proto semetic used not as a number but meant lone/singular and its used in this adjectival sense in akkadian. You also see it used in this sense in somali which wouldn’t make sense if it was a loan word from arabic.
