Since I live with my dad and have been home alone a lot, I learned how to cook.it was either eat basic shit that we bought from the stores or make my own food. I'm terrible with Somali food though. I have been trying to get my mother to teach me whenever I visit her.

I Enrolled in cooking classes when I was in high school. Took it all throughout my years. I can cook. I even made it kind of a hobby during my high school years.

Lol Wallahi I'm Somali. Parents got divorced when I was younger. I lived with my mom in the beginning until the age of 8 than moved to live with my dad. My dad wasn't a deadbeat him and my mom. just weren't compatible, a 20+ age gap between them niggas. They got divorced when I was like 4. I lived with my mom but I asked about my dad a lot. At first my mom had custody but than after awhile she asked if I wanted to live with my dad and I said yea. Plus I was my dad's only kid so he was trying to have me live with him for a while. I was happy with the decision at the time. Only regretted later on because I have siblings on my mom side of the family and holidays over there are way more lit than the one I spend with my dad. And my mom way cooler than my dad. He old so he ain't as chill as my mom.

Since then I been visiting my mom yearly when I wasnt in school. Now I'm in college so my vacations aren't aslong as they were before.

It's weird that in almost all Somali restaurants the chefs are men , yet trying to find a Somali husband willing to cook is virtually impossible

It's because the food you cook with your own hands never tastes as good as when someone else makes it for you that's why I never cook my own food even though I can
