Solution to the Smear campaign against Somali community!

Why don't the members of this thread do something constructive for a change and transform this forum into a Somali Defence League? We could collectively tag and correct misinformation, counteract the spread of false narratives across platforms, and report instances where our name is wrongly used as a scapegoat by non-Somalis. I'm anti-anyone, whether they're madow, cadaans, or green; I wouldn't lose sleep if they all went extinct.

We're losing this media war because we're divided into numerous factions—gender wars, class wars, and clan wars. Unlike back home, where it's just 'you,' here, you stand out, and you don't neatly fit into the racial categories of the West with its diverse ethnic backgrounds. Even the wrongdoings of fellow Horner's are being unfairly branded under our name.

We need something akin to or the same as the ADL (Anti-Defamation League). Femcels should refrain from using their extensive influence to engage in gender wars and airing out community business and provoke macrobian incels. Doing so may lead to a counter-response, diverting attention from racial and nationalist agendas.

Disregard the notion of trying to please everyone; you're essentially advocating for people to compromise their principles and assimilate into non-Somali cultures. It's fine to be kind and socialize, treating others as you want to be treated. However, in this media war, everyone seems to be against Somalis. Whether you like it or not, as Somalis, you stand out—from culture to phenotype. Everywhere you go, people will see you first as Somali before considering anything else, even before knowing your name or character.

The Jews, despite facing victimization, can blend with Europeans and others. You would only know their race if their name sounds Jewish(Hence they now have non Jewish names) or if they openly admit to it. Despite this advantage, they have robust media defence and anti-defamation leagues. Contrastingly, Somalis can be easily identified, are Muslim, and are often categorized as black—leaving them vulnerable to attacks from multiple angles. Today, due to the 30-year civil war, Somalis are scattered and lack a solid foundation except for their people.

Madows have had it in for us ever since we arrived in the west. These tensions have been ongoing since before social media, yet some Somalis have convinced themselves that this is all because of online trolls. A lot of the insults directed at Somalis by madows have been around before social media.

While I personally spend less than two hours a day on social media, and I come from a privileged background in the tech industry with well-to-do ajnabi friends, it's crucial to look beyond the individual experience. Entire wars have been won through propaganda, and nations and regimes have been toppled by the influence of press and media. Dismissing the impact of these factors would be underestimating their significant role in shaping narratives and outcomes.

In the current era, individuals dedicate a substantial part of their 9-5 routine, as well as post-work and pre-bedtime hours, to social media and the internet. The shaping and shaming of narratives on these platforms are concerning, as it's remarkably easy to provoke outrage and real-life targeting through a false narrative or a single post. Do you still believe this won't have an impact on you?

Every day, whether walking on the street, at work, or anywhere else, you're first identified as Somali. Automatically, you're associated with being Muslim, and your color is an additional layer. Now, considering that you are easily identified, can you still believe that it's not crucial to care about this ongoing media war?

this is a chicken and egg situation. while not being from the UK i'm well aware of how xaasid many of the jamaicans and nigerians in the UK were to somalis, going all the way back to the 90s. but this is likely a phenomenon contained to the UK (at least in the anglophone world). i've never seen this expressed in the US or canada, we are firmly black over there. even taking the bush era and the heavy surveillance of somali people by the FBI. but this is a global propaganda war so we must acknoloedge that the thoughts and opinions of certain groups matter more than others. in the "mainstream" spaces of tiktok and twitter, americans and black americans are more valuable, the latter even act as social gatekeepers determining whats okay to mock and what isn't. the UK blacks are routinely mocked and the mere idea is a joke itself.

i disagree, the PoC haven't been helping and will happily join in for approval but the specific brand of hate towards somalis that we're seeing manifest isn't coming from them

there are strategies to that kind of thing, i've just rambled about them in this post but these are not something discussed on open forums. it's totally possible to bend the twitter alogorthm to your will and do social engineering from your home, the same mechanisms elon uses to promote racists can also be used by us but frankly i don't have the time to contribute to such an endeavor

but really, the most you can do is move on with your life, career, family etc the people around you matter a whole lot more than online edglelords with a midlife crisis. it all starts from the individual level, and being an admirable indivudal is the best propaganda there is
