Socialism always fails

China is mixed economy. With capitalism they started thriving
The only reason china could even be at the point they are now is because of the mao years, mao built the base of educated healthy workers and also freed women to take part in the workplace. you can't have deng without mao. and deng was mostly a product of his time with the sino soviet split and the weakening of the ussr. also i have noticed this but its a common theme that capitalism apologists negate the influence of socialist goverments by saying its mostly the people who did it, which is mostly true beurocrats cant actually create economies on their own but i wonder why this type of rethoric is never used about india or many other such nations. the only reason china is in the place they are now is because of socialist governance.

How did India fall so much behind china even though they both started out socialist ?

india never fully commited to anything, socialism or capitalism. also china before even trying to open themselves to the west had eradicated all the old ideologies that were holding them back. india still has caste which means hundreds of millions of workers are untapped potential, also i mentioned it before but china in its early mao years focused heavily on primary education and healthcare which created an useful working population while india focused on creating universities instead of fully educating their children which still continues today with their shoddy primary education. also china fully utilizes their female population while in india only a quarter of their women are in the workforce.

There was nothing socialist about Mao era or current China, Venezuela, North Korea or whatever else, unless your definition of socialism is State capitalism, where production is owned by the state and managed by bureaucrats, with markets sometimes partially or fully replaced with central plans, at the end of the day this is just a different way of managing capital where production is for the sake of growth and accumulation not use
