So, in Finland we have this thing called "compulsory military service " where each Male over 18 must serve the army or do social service for double the military service time or go to jail for 2 years, females aren't obligated to do so in this western equality loving country. It is modern country with conservative army. Although they don't have power when it comes to the constitution, religion right, that's why there are "no pig products" option in the military for muslim males.
But females have the right for voluntarily service, which they can apply, obviously a privilege, which thousands of females throw it away each year, while Male suffer at least 12 months without hope, except 2 years in prison.
Any way, there are strong sentiments of equality going on in these days from the left, either voluntarily service for everyone or compulsory for everyone, the 1st "voluntarily " is unlikeable scenario realistically, since many would not have served in the military , there should be at least 8000 each year minimum who serve, and for security reasons the country must maintain the military institution, that's why i think the compulsory option is more realistic.
Now why the hell I'm tell you this, cuz there is a somali hijabi female who applied voluntarily to serve the military, but the institution dress code is that, everyone is the same, wear the same thing, no anything that may get attention should be worn.
Which leads us to the elephants in the room. 1-She wear hijab, 2-if the country turned the service to compulsory for everyone, Muslim females would had constitutional excuse for not to attend, which is no hijab in the army. Which what this girl is trying to get, a hijab in the army.
