Maybe he doesn't do enough things to be trusted by his parents. I help my parents pay the bills online, top up electricity and gas. Apply hundreds of forms for housing benefit. I carry my parents debit card as they trust me. I'm the one they send me at night if milk runs out. I don't have a fixed curfew as Im not into social gatherings. But if I need to go somewhere important I have to come back at 00.00.
If he is not the oldest, I do understand.

Know this Somalian brother mans 22 years and still gets told by his Aabo and Hooyo when to get home mans curfew was 21:00 o'clock. This just infuriates me wallahi. No wonder mans so skinny and jileec. I told him to explain to his parents like a real man that he is capable of staying longer and old enough to decide how late to arrive home. Lol having a curfew of 9:00pm at 22 is kinda extreme.I'd say I have strict parents but they don't worry about time unless I have an excuse.Im 20 and since about 17 I've been out till about 3-4am many times(not too often tho), each time I was met with a lecture and naxdin.You've got to put yourself in your parents shoes, they are constantly worrying about you.On the other hand I think every guy needs a rebellious age where they challenge the boundaries and hence create new boundaries.For me that was 17 and 18,especially 18 since I got a car, was making more money and travelled about an hour to UNI.As a Man U need freedom but theres limits,nolosha lama adkeeyo,if you're out late at least call your parents and tell them what you're doing so that they know you're safe.You wont understand the peace of mind that gives until you're a parent.

I’m not defending it. At that point, just tell him to leave. A lot of the stuff Somali parents do is due to paranoia and it’s unreasonable. I’m just giving the parents possible point of view. Like I said, most are lenient towards boys, so this story sounds kinda like khudhafaad.

I had curfew growing up, I wasn't too overjoyed with it but once in a while my parents would let me stay out longer. I think your friend has wonderful parents and what's even more amazing is that his obeying the rules. Please look after him and remind him how special he is to them

Is he by any chance a mama's boy with only girl siblings in the house? I swear if it was my son I would've kicked him out as soon as he turned 15-16 years old . I would send him out on the streets to survive and hustle. I would send a warning out to all niggaz with daughters, lock your daughters in or don't come complaining if they get knocked up
