I believe you didn't read my post correctly, I said qabil doesn't matter sxb, I am not dir either, I was just throwing in a suggestion as Northerners might be able to bring something different for a change. I also specifically left out the secessionist groups from the North. The groups I mentioned tend to be unionists from what I've seen

Anyhow, I honestly forgot about D&M, you lot are huge, but you guys already had a presidency I thought? Isn't Aden Madobe RX? Anyways I honestly wouldn't mind someone like Laftagareen as President tbh

Yeah I misunderstood you, but on Aden madobe, he is mirifle but only served as acting president for like two months. In the future having 1m1v and moving away from qabil positions is the best for the country to move forward, I agree.

Many clans that are deemed 'langaab' do in fact have large population and will profit from 1m1v. I mean beesha madowweyn is like 15% of the country and clans like the gabooye also make up a sizeable part of Somalia.

Biggest losers will be darood and hawiye yar yars who can't use their clan card anymore to get high positions

We’d all like non Darood/Hawiye Presidents and PMs but it won’t happen by indirect elections. Until we move into 1P1V with registered parties having to have a couple thousand members I don’t see other groups being able to hack the top 2 positions in Somalia.

It kinda takes away from the prestige of the office when unlettered cab drivers or ex-warlords can call themselves Senators, Presidents, and Speakers.

Somalia is a Darood/Hawiye enterprise where they cannot even hold 1 man 1 vote elections and resort to swapping seats every few years between 2 clans. They only control a few neighbourhoods in Mogadishu and have no sovereignty at all. It's not in the interests of Dir or Rahanweyn to participate in such a shambolic system that's designed to shut them out.
