There is a history behind squatting, that stretches far beyond Russian and Polish youth of today squatting in track suits.

This just hit me, I've never really thought about it, but when watching pictures of my father in his youth, he is squatting on many of them. Even picture of Bosniaks from long back ago, they are squatting. And not only the youth, old men do this too. We even squat at funerals after the prayer.

Must be some ancient Slavic phenomenon. Fascinating.

Somalis, chinese indians all squat aswell. Its a comfortable way of sitting. The real question is can you do ablution while squatting?
