Two communities in Somaliland overwhelmingly voted for MB particularly those in the eastern Somaliland region in major habar jeclo strongholds in sanaag , saraar and saaxil togdheer (balidig, qulooguid, burco ) in addition, the habar awal community in gabley, awdal , saaxil and maroodi jeex,
MB lost to votes of 3% to wadani in awdal
MB lost to votes of just under 3% to wadani in sanaag
MB lost to votes of just under 2% to wadani in togdheer
MB's major base is mostly the awal and jeclo. but, the last 2 years his fan base gradually started to melt away after the SDF funding that revealed that provinces with a large habar jeclo population were getting a single figure percentages with the exception of sanaag that had a percentage in the late teens.
secondly, the land theft that disproportionally affected members of the habar awal community in the north and west side of hargeysa.
The question is can Habar awal bring an end to MB'S presidency, a man who is deeply controversial among certain communities in Somaliland..............
