Why can't the government construct sidewalks throughout the city, particularly in Mogaddishu? Somalia would appear more developed and attractive if there were sidewalks. I'm tired of seeing people walk on the street since it makes the city look so unappealing.

I know what you mean, it’s usually not consistent. There are sidewalks but as you can see some businesses don’t think to add sidewalks to their establishments. This problem can only be resolved if the government had building regulations that enforces the creation of sidewalks, which we do not at this time. I agree it would definitely be worth it!

I have been to major somali cities in the last year and the only city which has paved roads coupled with sideswalks happens to be garowe.

The government must enact legislation because this is absurd. How can you start a business when there is nowhere for your customers to walk? I was in Garrisa last summer, and the number of times I almost tripped because the sidewalks had disappeared or were uneven is insane.

I also wanted to add, there should be restrictions on donkey carts, not sure if this tradition is still permitted in most bigger cities as reer miyiga do also transport goods and services utilizing it.

Ngl after i came back from hargaisa to the uk i caught myself walking on the edge of the street. It took me a couple of days to get re-acclimatised
