Yes I don't know why no one is highlighting this. We were at our peak during the 60s and even 70s and 80s till black hawk down occurred. Ever since its been constant humiliation. Although our reputation improved between 2020-2022 till the incels destroyed the little hope we had.

Somalis haven't had a good reputation since at least the late 80's.
Now we're only known for welfare/benefits, crime, gangs, piracy, drought, famine, war, etc.
It's truly heatrbreaking.
It's so bad that even Desis or Arabs know nothing about us or our culture. We're literally non-existent and irrelevant to everyone because our reputation and status is to the dirt ground. It's so bad.
I can't even tell you how many times Arabs told me they didn't know Somalis had their own language and didn't only speak Arabic like Sudanis.
