With All this talk about federalism especially since the PMs recent comments what do you guys think should we revert back to the 18 gobols
All Somalis agree to disagree because of xamar. So the answer will be bring up conferderal system. All state apply their own system.

It won't work for the same reason that the current top down approach doesn't. It is fake and imposed!

Member states are organized along the lines of larger clan confederacies(kinship and tradition), unified by an ironclad constitution that allows little room for ambiguity(No reason to debate, we share core beliefs, Sunni Islam, Somali identity, across all borders). The political system should operate as a two-party framework with a bicameral parliament.

But what do i know? :icon lol:

Whatever happened to that thing about turning the federal state’s presidents into governors?
It will go into effect after the election. but changing titles won’t do much. U gotta slowly break up those useless dysfunctional melees’s imposed super states who operate as if they were their own country.

This is something any future smart somali government will pursue over the long term. Over the coming decades the number one most viable strategy to centralize Somalia is to increase the power of gobols . Since stronger gobols will weakn any type of regional government and it will be much easier to prevent the existence of any large faction/autonomous region .

Of course you dont get rid of the federal member states. Just let them over the next 20-30 years slowly weaken and become more symbolic.

Not happening.

Correction: maybe it’ll be semi successful in paper states with pimped presidents who live in xamar.
I dont take this kind of cope seriously anymore. When I realized basically all the member states presidents worked jn the fgs before running for president of a member states.

Your guy deni is running again for president and you think somali elites have some sort of loyalty to their deegan ?

When has Deni said he’s running for president? why do people keep on repeating this line? Deni is president of a state that’s three times the size of Ireland. He literally rules over a 1/3 of the country, who would give that up for xamar bunker and parliament filled with genetic waste of Somali race?

Its funny that you somehow think deni and the puntland elite are somehow uniquely different than all the other somali politicians.

And why wouldn't your guy run again when he already did it once when he was president of puntland.

Yes they’re subordinate to the interests of the people of PL. Deni might’ve had the somalia virus 🦠 once upon a time but even he’s aware of what he stands to lose this time around if he goes to xamar. If I know this much as a youngster then he definitely does too.

I think everyone should be able to create their own system of governance. Hell if your gobol/people decides they want a monarchy to rule them I say let them go and do what they need.

We are not a one size fits all country. I think in the end if we are all under the Somali flag and all part and parcel of Somalia then whatever happens underneath that cover is up to the locals. If you want democracy, or monarchy, or a junta, or a one party system your people can decide that on their own. I think the specifics of something's like economic cooperation with foreign countries as relating to the FGS 's jurisdiction on foreign policy will be reviewed later on.

Also if you want several regions inhabited by your people or different people to be united into one larger region or to have several separate regions that is once again a decision up to the people.

We can even look at the possibility of creating new gobols to mitigate conflicts or disputes regarding the boundaries of established regions (Mudug, Sanaag, Jubbada Dhexe, Jubbada Hoose, etc etc)
or to create special districts for people who don't feel like they have any options. Their middle status however will come with the drawback they won't receive representation on the Regional Level, they will receive very limited representation on the federal level like the District of Columbia and Puerto Ricos' statuses in Congress nor will they enjoy the rights those official FMS have and these are the trade offs for stronger local governance.
