Should Sex Education and Abstinence Be Taught at Schools in Somalia?

Your whole reasoning for sex education is about because of Zina. And I quote: “ You can’t expect teenagers not to do it” and also “it’s a natural desire”.

You can’t just say, teach the teens about sex education because it’s an inevitability that’ll they’ll commit Zina. That’s a very irresponsible approach. You’re basically normalising a great sin
It’s already becoming normalized we need to teach kids how it can also affect there health and HIV

In my opinion there's no harm in teaching young teens about sex, it's an important and wholly natural part of existence.

Obviously if you are asking to teach them because it's inevitable that they will commit zina in the future, that's a bit iffy really.

However, it's become so common among the diaspora that it really has become an inevitable thing sadly.

In conclusion, I think we should teach them about sex because of the usefulness of it as they grow up.

You can't hide the world from them forever :manny:

So what’s wrong with teaching how to have protected sex there are still old Somalis that don’t know shit all
The reason why old Somalis “don’t know shit” is because they keep it halal. They marry so they don’t need to have “protected sex”. Which should be encouraged in our kids:
sex after marriage not before

You can still get HIV and shit even if your married I don’t think you know shit all to be fair

Abstinence education is worthless in Somalia bc the dominant culture tells you to abstain till marriage anyway. It wouldn't be adding anything new unlike sex-education as data shows it plays an important role in combatting rape and domestic violence, STDs, FGM and other harmful cultural practices.

It is the truth, majority of Somali men loose their virginity before they turn 20.
