No, but this is common knowledge. I understand were your concern is coming from, but the democrats were the conservateive group in the Lincoln days and the republicans where the left leaning in social issues. The both sides had a ideological shift in the early 1930'sIm pretty sure they are still the same.
Liberals act like they are good for minorities but reality they are backstabbers.

And to your point, i think both the democarats and the republicans are very easy to predict policy wise, because they both embody two different transparent ideologies. It's easy to know what the democratic party want's by being more informed on current issues and being educated on basic economics, and how the different political instutions works. But that problems is exlusive to the U.S, in europe a right-leaning person would actually be a centrist or the moderate left in the U.S. The americans are too extreme on their conservatism.
