Should I move to American from the UK?

High salaries and high cost of living are only true for cities like New York City and San Francisco. It’s crazy how many people that have high salaries working in Silicon Valley but their mattress is their only piece of furniture. What’s the point of making all that money when it’s going to go only towards your rent? There’s many cities in the U.S that have great salaries and cheaper cost of living. I’m pretty sure Houston has more than 50% cheaper cost of living compared to NY and they have much larger apartments and homes. Everything’s bigger in Texas.
I wanna move there tbh bcs I’d like to live in a nice house rather than a dingy apartment

Can't wait for your update thread OP;

"Help! My McDonalds and corn syrup only diet clogged up my arteries and my hospital got shot up by some raging cadaan virgin mid-operation. I need $700,000 to cover the medical expenses walalayaal. Please help a fellow Muslima!!" :russ: :russ: :russ:

Can you explain how you pay your taxes? I’m confused about which government you would need to pay taxes to
I pay federal and State tax to state of Virginia
Also pay property tax of my house and my car to Fairfax county Virginia
Local government
We pay a lot of taxes

Hopefully someone who moved from the UK to the USA can elaborate more. Even if the pay is higher but what about the quality of lifestyle and safety. I think medical professionals can live a comfortable lifestyle in the UK plus they can do some private work. I heard in the US they rarely get weekends off.

Both are shitty lol come to Canada sxb we’ll treat u right
The only country I would move to is Canada, USA is a third world country now and Europe as a whole is racist. The U.K. is a great country and the best country in Europe in terms of acceptance etc, but Canada is up there as well, but your winters are off putting.

Are you in private or public when it comes to healthcare in the UK? and try living outside London if you do live in London the cost of living is less and there are more opportunities for the same or even more pay plus less crazy stuff going on outside of London.
