Should I make a Muslim Royalty Exposée thread?

How do we know that this is not a malicious character assassination? Why would an intelligence officer spread such gossip if not for the intent to create discord and destroy the image by emasculating the persona of a leader? People in intelligence hold information tight unless there is an objective they've been assigned, and if there is an objective, it might as well be a lie -- lying is their craft -- to seek an end goal. Calling a country king homosexual is a way to reduce the moral profile of a country. I guess Oman had too good of a track record, with that king being good to his people, that the West had to spread corruption.

Interestingly, we see Muslims who take the word of Kafirs to defame other Muslims because of their biases.
They are just mad that he isn’t a hypersexual freak like the other royals. The man had a purpose. His marriage didn’t work and he didn’t have any kids for whatever reason.

Qaboos was a straight British implant. British soldiers shot the previous Sultan and brought Qaboos from prison to the throne. He was completely a product of the West.

You don't know what you're talking about.

You're bringing up points that have nothing to do with what you quoted and do not negate him running his country well.

To address your fallacious statements; Qaboos played his cards right and ran Oman well and stayed neutral in the regional clusterfuck, and never recognized Israel. The country before he came to reign and after is like night and day. Calling him a puppet is a complete farce, Omans's foreign policy was quite unique and went against the interests of the West on my occasions, and was independent, while at the same time looking for its own interests like anyone else.

Oman under him had a pragmatic relationship with the UK on the grounds of defense, so this idea you're trying to propagate is false. He worked with the British to realize his ambition for the coup. After that, the British did not run the country and he was not a symbolic figurehead of the British either. The guy was known as a mediator with integrity by opposing sides, the reason people did not mind him taking a position on the world stage as a prosperous peaceful outlier. The Emirates, now those folks are much more in cahoots with the Western foreign policy agendas, often at the cost of other Muslims.

I see a lot of people complain about leaders all the time but can't even give credit when someone overachieves relatively.

What you wrote about the previous getting shot was not correct at all -- he shot himself in the foot after shooting another man. The guy, who by the way, was his father, lived out his years in a British hotel. Do bare minimum reading next time.

As for the reason he was deposed:

"Said became more reclusive from his people and country. In 1965, after making concessions to export oil with Iraq, Iran and Britain, he did little to improve the life of his people. The benefits of this deal would not come to fruition until his was deposed in 1970 in a palace coup.

"In 1965, the province of Dhofar revolted, this time with the support of the People's Republic of China and some of the nationalist Arab states, followed by an assassination attempt in 1966. It had a marked effect on Said, causing him to become even more erratic in governing the country. It was forbidden to smoke in public, to play football, to wear sunglasses or to speak to anyone for more than 15 minutes. No one was safe from the sultan's paranoia, not even his own son, Qaboos, who was kept under virtual house arrest at the Sultan's palace in Salalah.

"Before he was overthrown in 1970, because of his backwards policies, Oman had an under 5 mortality rate of around 25%. Trachoma, venereal disease and malnutrition were widespread. There were only three schools, the literacy rate was 5%, and there were only 10 kilometres (6 mi) of paved roads."

"Qaboos returned from his educational studies in the United Kingdom at the Royal Military Academy, and a year of service in the British Army infantry in 1964, and was placed under house arrest. Said did not speak to his son during the last 14 months before the coup, even though they lived in the same palace.

"On 23 July 1970 at the Sultan’s palace in Salalah, Qaboos executed a successful coup against his father with the help of the British and his uncle, and exiled his father to the United Kingdom. Said lived his last two years at the Dorchester Hotel in London. He was originally buried in Brookwood Cemetery, Woking, Surrey, England. His remains were then disinterred and transported back to Oman, and he was buried in the royal cemetery in Muscat."

That country was struggling and Qaboos completely transformed it. The British puppet framing tries to take away the work that was done by the sultan and the Omanis. Britain did not go develop Oman or do some damn charity projects. He was not some transplanted figure that they produced to only represent them, the guy was already set to be a future king but saw his father's terrible rule, and his own uncle supported him. These were internal people who had concerns for their own country. Now, I can see the issue with removing one's own incapable father (ineptness that led to suffering), and if that is right or wrong is not up to me, but I can say everything after that was the elevation of all standards to a high quality of life for everyone. People who can't respect that lack basic judgment.
