I attribute the high divorce rate in our community mainly due to a mismatch in expectations on spousal roles.

We're not as traditional as our parents were.

If both work then 50/50

If the man only works then the woman has to take care of the house.

If you have free time and not burnt out by work then helping your wife with the chores is a kind gesture.

If the man is the sole provider of the household it only makes sense that the wife is the sole maintainer of the household. If the husnand is providing and cooking/cleaning then where is the woman's role. What does she bring to the table.

But at the same time I believe that the man should have some naxariis and help his wife out from time to time. It doesnt hurt to cook and clean here and there.

But a lot of men feel like if they help out it will become the standard and his wife will start expecting him to help out all the time which puts him off doing so.

I put Books to the Test of Life
It's a bit of a simplistic question, but if a woman is primarily at home and not working, it makes sense for her to take care of the house while the man is out working. However, if they both have 9-5 jobs, it's only fair that they share responsibilities. For instance, the guy could help with dishes while she's cooking, or take care of vacuuming and other household tasks.

In my own family, neither my mom nor my stepmom has ever worked day in their life because my dad provides for them. They don't have much to do besides relax at home and handle cooking, which doesn't take up their entire day. Some people tend to exaggerate and are just lazy mammals, and lastly every one male or female should learn to sustain and feed themselves basic human skill and survival.

If they both have jobs, then 50/50; if one stays at home, it's more like 70/30.
I could be controversial but women should still be doing more at home even if both work.

How come? If both are exhausted from work then one doing all the household chores will corrode the relationship.

Then she should work less. We should have more strict roles in a marriage or else arguments will arise on who does what and when.

If a man is making all of the money, the wife is a housewife, and there are no kids in the picture then I don't think a man has an obligation to work in the kitchen. I feel like things change if small children are involved. If you have some energy to spare after work help out around the house a bit, at least until the kids are grown enough to start contributing to house work. No matter the scenario a man should know how to cook still.
