Sheikh Hassan Barsane was a famous Somali anti colonial fighter from the Gaaljecel clan. When in 1924, Italian Governor De Vecchi ordered all somali elders including Sheikh Hassan to give up their weapons, abolish slavery and submit to direct Italian rule and laws, Sheikh Hassan send a threatening letter that warned the Italians of war.

At that time many sheikhs, influenced by the awful time of colonialism they lived in, believed they were in the end times and some even tried to predict it exactly.

Well after this the italians send a battalion consisting of a thousand dubat (colonial troopers) from Mogadishu, another thousand from Warsheikh and another thousand from Jazira. They attacked Sheikh Hassan in his sphere of influence from Mahas to Beledweyne and fought a bitter and costly war against him and his followers until the Sheikh was captured by the colonizers and sent to prison where he passed away after a short while.

Of course a qadiriya order would fight a saliyiha, it has nothing to do with the dervishes being close to AS.

If only you knew what Dervishes did to Somali people. See, It's thing to fight a colonial empire but how is it noble if it is fought in such horrible way? They fought against British Empire, but the heroes of Somali people? No. Other words, you would support Al Shabaab's actions since they are fighting against Somali government because of foregin intervention, despite the fact is that Somalia is 100% islamic country.

By the action of resisting foregin intervention, Al Shabaab is slaughtering and bombing our Muslim brothers in order to conquer and to become rulers of Somalia.

Sound familiar? Mad Mullah/Dervish movement and their evil actions toward innocent somali people in action of resisting British empire during Somali-Anglo War.

It's no wonder Lord Allah SWT willed the operation of british planes that dropped bombs and ended Dervish movement. Imagine looking up to many planes and wondered "Why do we have to deserve like that?" I interpreted it as Allah's punishment.

Disagree whatever you decide, I refuse to admire a figure like that. Alhmadulillah, Somalia is fighting against Al Shabaab.
