Abu Darda reported: The Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, said, “The scholars are the successors of the prophets. Verily, the prophets do not pass on gold and silver coins, but rather they only impart knowledge.”

Grade: Salih (good) according to Al-Bazzār
I did not question the status of those two mashaykh. But 'Bin Baz told me' is not a daleel.
Theres a qaaida to do the better of the two goods and salat is used as an example. The fard salah is better than the sunnah salah so if they come together at the same time it is best to do the fard.
I’m assuming the shaykh used that qaaida.
There’s a book called Qawaaid ul fiqh which has all these interesting rules.

Ya Allah- respecting the scholars is a virtue not a vice!
The basic attitude towards the scholars should be respect. You men who make fun of the scholars, who violate their honor- won't you get mad if your wife doesn't want to listen to you? If your kids don't want to listen to you?
There has to be some respect for authority in society. This is exactly why I can't stand Marxist type stuff of which the Muslim Brotherhood is a branch- "forget authority, everyone is absolutely equal" according to the Masonic ideology. So children don't need to listen to parents, lay people don't need to listen to scholars- it is a recipe for chaos. And once a society is in chaos it is ripe for external manipulation. It becomes a playground for all kinds of external actors.

Its a joke meme when one goes on a crazy rant you reply with "sir this is a wendys" which implies that this is a wendys. Man its funny just google it.
