theyll shoot 15 year olds but they won't even prosecute a rapist, every time I hear about rape perpetrated by Somalis (back home & abroad) it tends to also be extremely violent (killing,cutting maiming torturing) with their goal seeming to be cause the victim as much trauma as possible.

No, it's to do with ingratitude towards their husbands. But it doesn't apply to all women just those that possess this trait.

it's not true! Where would she go? Please don't talk about things you have no clue of, the only aspect where running away is involved in our culture is eloping. Kulaha rape victim is running to where exactly? Do you think she'll find a safe haven anywhere other than her family's?

What they did was, if there was a rape, the victim would be wed off to the rapist so people wouldn't say the family had an illegitimate child. And that's wrong.

Well, I know of someone who ran away to a city after being raped (and becoming pregnant) and found help from some young women she knew who sympathized with her story. They gathered money to put her up somewhere and got her married to a randomn man who would (in the eyes of society) be the father of the illegitimate child. To this day the child does not know their real identity.

It's a fact that people run away and its actually quite easy to lead a quiet life in a busy enough city. After a certain point, your family will stop looking for you or once the dust settles you can contact them and pretend like you eloped, got married and had a child instead of telling them you got raped.

There's an entire underbelly to Somali society that you as a man do not know about.
