Jowhar (PP News Desk) — Reports from Jowhar indicate that rising waters of Shabelle River have resulted in flooding that affected Mahadaay district and nearby villages.
The Deputy Chairman of Social Affairs in Mahadaay Saleh Fulel Haji told the media that the flooding has displaced people in Diinlaawe, Buurfuule,Shiidle Bari,Buulo Axmed, Kulmis under the jurisdiction of Mahadaay.
Hirshabeele State authorities have not visited areas affected by flooding. Seasonal rains cause flooding in Middle Shabelle where twenty plus years of neglect make it easier for rising river waters to breach flood defences.
