Do you know why Shabab uses 'suicide bombings' well not just shabab, it has been inherited from 'arabian jihad techniques' possibly with roots in 'al qutubi', the founder of this islamic political idea from Egypt. Anyways the reason is you can't ever 'trace' who sent them since they are not interrogated obviously, their DEAD.
But there is 'ways' to find out still, you need to investigate the person movements, phone calls, what mosque she went too, is she inside or outside from mogadishu. U will end up finding 'correlations' like their from one certain mosque 95% of the suicide bombers or they are always recruited from a certain 'region' which Shabab controls and they send them in Mogadishu. We also need a pattern, are they men, women, are they young or old, is it a mix? is it idealogical or money reasons? if it's idealogical find out what type of Islam they study, it's root origin and country, the imam who preaches it and his connections. I feel I could reach a sound conclusion if I was there in less then 6 months. It's all about finding the 'correlation' and where it matches, no matter how much shabab tries to mix it up, you will find somewhere a 'pattern' emerging historically and presently.
