Honestly when future historians look back at hsm's actions the land stuff will probably be the one where opinion is most divided. Since ultimately the land was govt landed that was stolen from the people who fled in the 90s. The issue was also something a non hawiye politician couldn't touch because it would unite hawiyes against that politician.

So in a sense hsm by solving this land problem actually helped solve this massive problem that future govts would have had to eventually deal with.

I didn’t say he had anything to do with it I said he taps into that kacaan nostalgia and rides off its coattails.
I don't agree and regardless I think it's VERY safe to say he is the most popular Somali politician in the last decade or two!

there is no widely popular Somali politician.
Relative to the rest he is massively popular, unlike the rest of the candidates in this election he draws on support from across the nation and is not limited to support from his constituency or clan.

Faarmajo had nothing to do with the Kacaan. Literally nothing.

He created his own popularity and his followers love him. The only other comparable figures is maybe Jaale Maxamed Siyaad Barre who had comparable popularity or even moreso in his heyday.

Wasn't farmajo the one who said there was no government before siad barre and none after him except his own?

Deni will never become president not because he is from puntland but his ties with UAE.

Turkey US Qatar EU won't allow UAE puppet to be president

The next president needs to eradicate AS completely once and for all. I don’t see any of these candidates being capable of doing that.

The only one who I see capable of doing that is Blackie. He has the battle experience and he knows the inner workings of AS. Lol but I don’t see him ever becoming president.

One thing i will give credit to Sheikh Sharif is he did not have this culture of opposition politics against him in his term. His rivals were literally just the previous radical elements who saw him as a Murtad. No FMS existed except PL and he made great strides to get them on board. I'm not sure how he would cope today with all the new FMS, Madasha, IC etc. He would either become very lax in trying to work with everyone or he could go rogue but unlikely. HSM isn't doing either since he has privatisation on his mind keeping him busy. But Sharif would have more determination to get security under control no doubt.

HSM is reappropriating the land for his inner circle of businessmen, whose wealth and support he is banking on for future elections. Personally i support HSM's land evictions. The land was originally Hawiye Goof. All he is doing is removing the opportunity of future Governments (or a future hardline Darod let's say) to evict these IDPs to place his or her own clansmen and even recieve justification as reversing the damages of 1991. Siad Barre nationalised much of it to use as patronage, his daughter even owned 20% of the land of Afgooye at one point. Let the Hawiye businessmen profiteer intuu geed xun oo Daarood ah dhulka nagu qabsado once again. Unless most of the country is nationalised, Xamar will not accept a government claiming public land while no port or airport outside the capital pays taxes to it.

Did he say that? In that case I do agree, the zoo requires a special type of Somali and the rest of you don't cut it.

See this is why I'm saying its a good thing. Your mentality is common in xamar so any change in xamar has to be done by a haiwye president or they'll complain that darod is taking advantage them .
