If someone has gay/lesbian desires, why can't we talk about it openly? Why do we as a community have to shun people? As I said earlier, to have these thoughts is not dambi, rather to act upon it is

God forbid but if I had a child and they had these thoughts/desires, wallahi I would want them to feel comfortable enough to talk to me about it, especially now that it's been taught in most schools in the U.K

I would want my child to feel like they could talk to me about ANYTHING InshAllah

One common misconception with the muslim community is that they think acting upon it means sleeping with that gender. When in reality it also means coming out and joining LGBTQ because that is imitation of kaafirs.

But yes we need to have a lock on this subject and find solutions instead of just saying its haram

For example, I’m a girl & have only been attracted to guys. But I don’t really have proper control over why I’m attracted to them. Personality could be a factor & so can looks, but even the weird looking ones, I can be attracted to for an odd reason. We can’t fathom that they’re seriously attracted to the same sex because it’s foreign to us. Then again, I could f*ck a girl & not be lesbian because it’s simply a choice at the end of the day
