I see your point. I don’t know if you’ve been back home but there is no such thing as “private life” in Somali society.

Unfortunately Somalia gets a lot of bad publicity. Always hope the best for Somalia as it is our ancestral homeland and the only independent real estate we own.
Islam was revealed by Allāh (Subhanahu wa Ta’ala) which governs all the affairs of society for the benefit of the people.
Secular just means the state does't interfere with the faith of the country prewar Somali has technically been "secular" in that respect not sure why you'd want these inept bastard running the country to become religious authorities as well when they can't even do their elected jobs properly.

You haven’t given 1 reason why there’s any hope for that place, I think subconsciously we all know that the supposed “glorious return” of the Diaspora will never happen, no sane person trades the 1st world for the 3rd world.

Idc what ppl do in private but in public, we should punish degeneracy. Also i think it's extremely arrogant of us to decide for the ppl living back hopme, while beign a small diaspora of the whole somali population. The ppl back home should have a vote to see how they wish to live. We cannot enforce our values or opinions onto them.

Secularism, all day every day. Having religious authority just leads to a higher risk of corruption. Islam/ being Muslim is not a solution to our problem. Somalia is supposedly 99% Muslim but look at our state. Having an Islamic government wouldn't change anything and it hasn't changed anything thus far.
