You should learn from you past lessons, your marriage was bereft of any barakah because of the excessive shameful waste on top of all the haram while much of the world struggled to eat including your own country men.

The nikah with the least expenses has the most barakah according to the hadith which you of course went against in a big way, you are likely the one that pushed all of that which resulted in that broken home debacle, now you have been given a second chance to rectify this.

Don't make the same mistake again by allowing the repeat of this shameless event, this is the first time I have heard of a male wanting this, even worse he is doing so to show off signifying what a pathetic spineless loser that he is.

I am going to assume your only going ahead with this because of your present circumstances and that normally you would have rejected such pathetic lowly males, I can totally understand this.

Tell him it will attract the evil eye. a simple halal wdding will bring more barakah. So many people divorce not long after huge weddings. Even my high school teacher said she learned from her first marriage how a large expensive wedding can cause detriment to a marriage early on (leads to high expectations or something), so the second time she went for a simple one with just close family and friends
