This reminded me of Ben Elton's (A British comedian-writer) book Stark where the surviving members of an eco-disaster would be the wealthy who would escape to another planet.

I was thinking more along the lines of Huxley's A Brave NewWorld. A book weitten in 1931 that is about a futuristic society, called the World State, that revolves around science and efficiency. In this society, emotions and individuality are conditioned out of children at a young age, and there are no lasting relationships because “every one belongs to every one else” (a common World State dictum).
Also Bill Coopers (behold a pale horse) a book on the plan to destroy the public from the inside out. He used documents that was sent (top secret) to from the us intel/military. Was killed because he predicted 9/11 and exposed 'their' plan.

But wow, I just watched this. Reminds me of Vancouver. There's too much empathy for drug addicts. At the very least they need to take them to the middle of nowhere and set up IDPs like Somalia.

I suggest our friend Aussie comes up here for a visit, life in down under might be good but it's also great here in the good ole pacific north west. The homeless and drug level is not unique to Seattle, heck I was in Cali recently and saw much worse conditions. It's something that, we as a nation have to tackle.

Thanks Sxb, I’ve already accepted @Emily’s invitation and she kindly offered me to crash her couch for few nights. Seattle is definitely on my wish list. I will let you know when I’m heading your way, but it will be when Trump is no longer your President.
