somalis:We need a gradual process. You can't have democracy when people never really understand the concept. First we need to fix our problems with a strong leader that does the interests of the people then we can slowly transition to democracy.
The biggest mistake Siyaad made was to stay in power for too long, he should have passed the power to someone else and the slowly prepare the country to democracy. I like what Jerry Rawlings did in Ghana, he started off as a strongman socialist leader, he fought corruption and then slowly opened to full democracy when the time was right. Ghana is now a promising country with a bright future if compared to other african nations
tribal
armed
very divided
border a regional power that wants to destory it- ethiopia
resistant to authority
respect an iron fist
look at countries which were historically unstable or had/have a tough armed population and/or tribalists:
saudi arabia
yemen
iraq
afghanistan
somalia
somalis need to realize the bitter truth and stop kidding themselves.
