I avoid make-up. It forces me to get better sleep and focus on self-care. There are alternatives to make-up use and the ability to look good without it. It also contributes to premature aging.
One can still look put together without anything on their face.
Also, I don't think men care whether you wear make-up or not. Most guys I've known appreciated that I didn't including those who like high-maintenance women. However, I clean up nicely. It's the clothes that make you and the self-care, not the make-up alone.

I won't lie that wearing make-up changes the behaviour of men. They are very simple and visual creatures. If a guy's requirement is for me to have a beat face he can kick rocks. I hate anything synthetic and if I ever wore makeup would prefer to make my own cosmetics from scratch.
My main gripe with makeup is what's in it. Women in general use too many cleaning and personal care products and have more toxins than men. Though both are highly polluted.
