Is there any proof of this beside pictures of them meeting?
It is documented that during the 1973 oil boycott Saudi Arabia send a plea to Siad barre for Somalia not to explore oil but the exploration of oil did take place in the 1980s and there was a deal in 1989 with conoco but unfortunately the government was toppled in 1991 and the USC interfightings ended the hope of a new provisional govt surprisingly conoco stayed at its Mogadishu office km6 throughout the 1990s

This exactly what i was pointing out they just don’t understand that Somalis in the 1970s were a different type of people i just don’t want to make every reply a long historical lesson
 
I used to hear similar bizarre 'stories' from old geeljires, one of them being..
when Oil was discovered in Somalia , the Saudis came down and built a masjid on top of the oil well to prevent geeljires from exporting it .:deadrose:
