I think
@Grant finally made a twitter account
I notice the posts are about limiting access and hiding or disguising negative information. Nobody is challenging the accuracy of the information itself.
I have used long drops, short drops and bushes all over the country, and even a composting toilet in a hotel in Baraawe. The public toilets in my day were just open areas marked off with string, all of them not that well marked. Even the one at the Hargeisa airport had no surround. Sorry, I never saw a flushing rest stop in miyi.
I worked as a teenager on a cattle ranch in central Utah. The only flushing toilet was in town and the ranch was five miles out. My grandfather carried TT in his pocket and I was known to use sagebrush.
It's a common and expected deal in undeveloped areas all over the world.
I do note, however, that Hargeisa has grown considerably since 1966, and the issue could now easily become a public health hazard. IMO, this isn't something to cover up; it's something to do something about. But ajnebi should not be leading this charge.
