The so called "Generals" of their incompetent army are dudes who were middle ranking officers in Barre's time.

Furthermore, they've been out of military environments for 20 years till 2009. Now they have been tatted up with 5 star "general"titles with out any merit. These guys are old heads who have been drinking lattes for 20 years at Hounslow or Dixon rd Toronto. What a pathetic state of affairs. These are people who held no jobs for 20 years. Some of them were janitors at hospitals in the Wesr bc they had no skills or proper education but today they command battalions. No wonder they've been losing battles after battles

You can't hate on them. Atleast they have considerable military training and history.

There is a worrying number of military officers that have no formal training, or experience. One three star general comes to mind. I don't remember the names of the others unfortunately.

And you can't blame these men. They are trying to fit a war with unpaid, untrained men. Even worse is that some which were ex militia men (predators). They even made progress this year against Al shabab.

Their previous experience doesn't really matter. There were hundreds of middle rank officers who are still alive today.

These guys got the job through bribes most likely.

It's time we start looking at a different way to lead our armies.

Most of Europe, the States and other countries all hired foreign military experts when they started to develop their militaries.

Hire 3 star equivalent generals from NATO or South America and pay them huge bonuses for the performance of their charges.

10 million dollar bonus is definitely an incentive and it makes sense for us since getting rid of Al Shabaab is worth billions.
