Garxajis have the second highest camel populations after kablalax darood

We both camel herders and that is why we get along quite easily and hardly in conflict

Half my sub sub clan is still on camels, my elder was telling me, our registered diya members are not even fully settled into towns only half or so are according to him, that's why I raised up a thread about the hidden population in Somalia, the nomadic count.

I am speaking about my 'bah' who are all on camels niyahow, you know that qardho and garowe all the way to erigavo and burco is the nugaal territory? all ancient maps and local somalis say toga nugaaleed the nugaal valley and people who reside there are the SAME due to the environment. Mudug is apart of the ethiopian plain same with buhodle. The rest of PL is apart of the gulf of aden mountain ranges.

Most osman maxamud reside in karkaar which is just 'nugaal' given another name, learn your geography BOY. Qardho is famous for it's 'valley' and camels. The whole town is centered around camel. The way Somalia regions were carved up was WRONG. It should've been done on 'environment' like plains, valleys, mountain ranges, farm land, rivers, etc. That's how normal states carve up their states. The true BARI is very small and just the gulf of aden mountain ranges, like the calmadow stretch illa al mishal mountains. That's BARI.

The way bari was made was to take a big chunk of nugaal.

I think only Ogaden can rival Garhajis in camel numbers. In 1944 they had 370,000 camels within British Somaliland (Ethiopia not included). Within Garhajis it is the Togdheer/Gashaamo folks that have the most 220,000 (HY Burco), 50,000 (other HY) and Eidagale 100,000.

Those statistics from Somaliland were done by british isaaq colonial officers, of course they will inflate their figures, I highly doubt it. There isn't many villages in SL from google earth, this means very minimal camel herding population. Camel herders congregate in villages and the more there is, the larger the nomadic count. That's a general rule all Somalis know. If the DDSI trade from ogaden camel herders stopped in berbera, SL would shut down because local isaaqs are not nomadic and settled today 90% bar garhajis

Once that galdogob road is finally done which is taking a long time, most the harti/ogaden central ddsi nomads are going to garacad, you will see a huge knock-on effect with Berbera dying in trade and revenues from taxes. The only thing they will have to rely on is that stretch to jigjiga which is small and most of them use djibouti port for bagaash and small items they need in towns.

Habar yonis camel numbers total 270k while dhulbahante alone keep 240k and remember hy are biggest camel keepers

Now imagine the rest of harti before you even come to Ogaden, clearly shows harti keep more camels than hy

@DR OSMAN that was in 1944 not now. Now much of Somaliland livestock is gone due to droughts and desertification.

Ok that make sense and I will accept that because there was no big somaliland towns notice in 44? it's because they were all on camels, it's when they settled, the towns got larger but their nomadic count also dropped so they can't play this game of we have 'lots of reer miyi' because they don't. Only PL can play that card because we indeed are not all settled. 60% are not and our leaders when they go to war notice they ask all camel herders to join because the bulk comes from there.

Like reer hersi in omar mahmud. They are all settled now, they don't have nomadic clans-men because the british when it was ruling somalia forced them to settle. Reer mahad are still 90% nomadic. Osman maxamud majority nomadic also. Issa the same. Ali saleban isn't anymore @Reer-Bari they largely settled these guys in kismayo-oman-etc. All the other mjs are still largely nomadic.

The only 2 clans not on camels in osman mahmud are bah gareen(bosaso settlers) and muse suldan(fishermen), the rest of osman mahmud are largely nomadic including BAH DIR.

Puntland is not a ideal place for camels though (aside from parts of Mudug) Reer Mahad do
settle across Haud so indeed they do have many camels. It is all about having a big grazing
land. The HY camels survive in Gashaamo district so that is always their breeding ground
when there is drought in Somaliland region.

Lol do you know only warsengeli or dhulos? Or you speaking of Somaliland alone?

2/3 Mohamud salebaan are camel keepers... now I haven’t counted reer bicidyahan who 70% live in kilinka and others smaller mj’s

I can't speak for MJ since I haven't seen the statistics but Dhulo + Warsan camels combined were less than that of the HY British Somaliland camels.

I am not denying reer mahad are our largest clan BY FARRRRRRRRRRRR. But you also need to accept that qardho-garowe have some beautiful nugaal pastures also, even the sayid gave gabays about how it beautiful land for camels. Osman Mahmoud have large nomadic population also

I once ate the best camel meat at Jalam  back in 2015. Good memories.

Pland indeed is doing good work bringing back former pasture lands like Dharoor valley.

Number of camels in the past was a indicator of power and territory. To have had that number of camels you would need.

1. Big territory where they can graze

2. To blunder other clans from their camels

@Bohol

I think Garhajis is still largely nomadic, because they don't have one big settlement similar to ogaden. Them niggas are still on camels. But HJ/HA hell nooooooo, that is unsellable. They don't have sacad muse camel herders anymore similar to reer hersi has no camel herders today due to colonial policy to force settlement.

If sacad muse can make hargeisa that big by settling. U can assume if HY settled, 3 hargeisa.

Bohol is right, there is something about the ethiopian plains, the hawd and population. Reer Mahad are largely found around those areas and mudug which is just another part of the ethiopian plains. HY are largely there and by far largest in isaaq like reer mahad are our largest clan. Ogaden is in that area and largest clan in Somalis.

What the f*ck is over there? Bari-nugaal is nowhere in comparison to the ethiopian plains nomadic population wa hadi run laysu sheegayo.
