Russian military equipment is badly designed. First their tanks are a lot smaller then western tanks that is due to Russian tanks have a auto reloader which is a massive weak point because if the tank is hit the ammo explodes ad the ammo is not stored away from the gun. now their ship also sunk because the ammo exploded.
crap design by the Russians.

Russian tanks are not badly designed; the Russians pioneered composite armour, APS, soft-kill systems, sabot rounds and spall linings for main battle tanks. These are all designed to increase the safety and survivability of the crew.
The rounds in the autoloader are actually safe because they are under armour, have armour shields and are stored in the part of the tank that is only hit in 2% of all engagements; the only rounds that are susceptible are the 18 stowed rounds that used to be placed outside the autoloader.
The Russians no longer store extra rounds outside the autoloader in the T-72 and T-90 tanks -- drastically increasing survivability.

The T-80 is a different story because the rounds in the autoloader are placed vertically -- making it dangerous.
PS: All Western tanks (except the Abrams) store the bulk of their rounds in the hull and do not isolate them from the crew compartment; and there are no blow-out panels for these rounds.
The Russians are clearly lying; that ship was hit with a missile; its destruction was not a result of negligence or ammunition storage.
