Yes you are right. Also this would pave way for a lot of future development. It's highly needed along with Lughaya port.

Ok, Ethiopia manage do it, but Somalia is rough.

Not that Somalia is rough, Eritrea is more mountainous and has a railway going from asmara to massawa

A railway is possible, but with east african technology, it's highly unlikely that they will be able to use modern equipment, and who would fund it?

Only answer is the Chinese, and how they funded the addis to jabuuti one

"Terrain" :comeon: the land doesnt suddenly change if you cross into awdal

I've been to both Djibouti and Borama several times (although did not travel between the cities) and with the elevation within borama area being over 5000ft above sea level and Djibouti being a coastal city then the terrain will undoubtedly vary a lot.

Ok.
If we can get help with the Chinese, we could potentially transportation efficient and Affordable. But everything comes at a cost

It might but it isnt a deal beaker or close to impossible if the people/goverment put their mind into it than it shouldnt be to big of a problem

A better idea is a railway for the Somali coast. From Jabuuti to Xamar. Goes by Saylac, Bulaxaar, Berbera, Xiis, Maydh, Las qoray, Boosaso, then down to Xamar, and maybe Mombassa.

The view would be amazing
