They are traders by history hence Banadiri, and any of your family members who lived in Xamar would tell you they were generally involved in trade, business, and were very educated they were usually judges, doctors, engineers. In contemporary times they were very well off. Because of the breakdown of civil society, and the fact that they are minorities, they are usually seen as macmacaan makers but it's far from the truth.
