The most recent Government adopted population estimation is the 2014 UNFPA one. As for people from NFD and DDSI moving in to manipulate population statistics it is not that easy, large amount of population movement won't go undetected.


Now back to Waqooyi Galbeed region the UNFPA population estimation of 2014 put the population of that region at 1,242,003.

Total population of Somalia was put as 12,281,207. So Waqooyi galbeed region is entitled to roughly 10% of the aid & funds. Overall northern Somalia regions are 30% of Somalia population.

The idealogy must change before concessions. At the moment as you can see the residents of Hargeisa are already praising the former government (they know ictiraaf won't come and their current regional Gov is useless) , so gradually that is how the rest of the population will wake up and smell the coffee.

Why do we need to bring them to the fold or make concessions? What do they have to offer us? They have boycotted federal politics for 30 years. They will have to accept the consequences of that when they eventually give up on ictiraaf. I see no reason to rush or beg when they're barely holding on as it is.

So what do you suggest be done?

They hold non isaaq regions as well, in samaroon and warsan+dhulo lands.

Go to war with them when their entire argument for breaking away is based on the south bombed us?

A solution is needed, and I dont see being hard on them getting the job done.

The benefit would be, one Somalia.
