That’s fair. I think it’s because I’m Djiboutian and they use “midgaan” to refer to them but didn’t know it was an insult until now. I know they mostly live in the north of Somalia.

these people even when oppressed like other ethnic tribes are still the most patriotic Somalis I have ever come across they have more pride in being Somali then 99% of western ethnic Somalis - My Hoyo lived and was raised around them they literally are the ones who make the best Somali foods and dishes hence in weddings back home they are the chefs and have the businesses for the venues.

Siad barre was the only one who saw their loyalty to the Somali land and people and he integrated them into schools and in the government, they never turned on anyone nor backstab and seek revenge even when during civil war they had nothing to do with it but still suffered.

Siyaad barre didn't do enough to help the Somali bantus. They didn't have much access to education or representation in the dowlad.

Bantu Children where in His schools I have a lot of photos and even the parades of the young girls who would sing majority you can tell are Somali Bantus, his regime just got started so even ethnic Somali regions did not receive much yet. But He did have them as generals and Pilots etc but of course He would take care of his Qabil first.

Why when they Speak Somali for generations and are Muslims and have Muslim names as well as a Qabil they belong too as well as land which they can count their lineage and forefathers. They are free and have more Patriotism to Somalia then those Nomadic Tribalistic Barbarians.
